The Craig H. Neilsen Foundation’s mission is to improve the quality of life for those living with spinal cord injury and to support scientific exploration for effective therapies and treatments leading to a cure.

The Neilsen Foundation funds projects that are expected to:

* Lead to key discoveries through innovative and collaborative mechanistic, translational, preclinical and clinical research.
* Enhance standards for the delivery of care, particularly in the area of rehabilitation.
* Empower individuals with spinal cord injury to live independently in the community and enjoy improved emotional and physical well-being.

The Craig H. Neilsen Foundation was established in 2002 to award grants to a broad spectrum of charities. My dad was the epitome of tireless perseverance,” says Ray Neilsen, Chairman of the Board. “His injury gave him laser-focus, and he became even more successful after the accident. My dad never saw himself as disabled, because although his body was damaged, in his mind, he was a triathlete.” Craig’s personal experiences ignited a passion to support the spinal cord injury field. As the vision for the Foundation evolved, he realized the tremendous impact the Foundation could have to improve the lives of others.

DREAM applied for the grant to help our participants live more independently by providing adaptive equipment for outdoor recreation. With the $25,000 awarded to DREAM we were able to increase our summer equipment inventory to help more athletes in the Flathead Valley and beyond enjoy life to the fullest. We are honored to receive this grant and we will put it to great use.

Thank you to The Craig H. Neilsen Foundation. We are forever Grateful!
