Forty years ago, DREAM’s founders had a vision. They saw what’s possible when people with disabilities
access the life-changing outdoor experiences of our Flathead Valley. Today, we’re building on that dream
with the Lesar Family Mountain Center for DREAM Adaptive Recreation.
You can be part of this transformational project.

What’s possible
Our new home base will be a place to gather, learn, and grow—a place where our community will truly feel inspired and supported to adventure into the unknown.
A permanent year-round adaptive facility will help us carry out our existing programming in a safe, supportive, and accessible environment. The Lesar Family Mountain Center for DREAM Adaptive Recreation will be a space where independence can be promoted to the highest level and where participants, staff, and instructors feel completely seen and empowered.
Looking ahead, the Mountain Center will be supported by increased program staff, more paid and volunteer instructors, and new adaptive equipment. These resources will allow us to move participants off our waiting lists and into the action and expand our programming at Whitefish Mountain Resort to include inclusive and accessible mountain biking, snowshoeing, hiking, and adventure camps.
DREAM is growing
Our slopeside shack has served DREAM for decades in empowering participants to set their sights on the horizon, dream bigger, and push through perceived limits and boundaries. But working out of this small space, lacking accessibility features and basic amenities, undercuts the experience we hope to create and restricts our ability to meet growing demand. Our new Mountain Center will better serve us today and as we continue growing.
DREAM’s reach has grown significantly in the past five years. Between 2020 and 2025, we:
- Served 48 percent more individuals (from 264 to 391)
- Offered 44 percent more lessons and opportunities (from 1,189 to 1,714)
- Hosted 92 percent more volunteers (from 120 to 230)
Life-changing impact
Opening doors
When Kevin Bostock imagined raising a family, he always dreamed of reliving the weekends he’d spent skiing on Big Mountain with his dad. But as an infant, Kevin’s daughter, Cosley, was diagnosed with a rare genetic epilepsy condition causing developmental delays and requiring intensive therapies. Kevin and his wife, Jody, found their plans and expectations turned upside down.
For the Bostocks, the impact of getting involved with DREAM is clear: “It’s been life-changing,” says Kevin.
With DREAM, the family saw the barriers to outdoor recreation drop away—not just because they had access to adaptive equipment and instruction but because of DREAM’s open, caring, and accommodating culture. Over five seasons, Cosley, who is now nine years old, has advanced from the magic carpet to black diamond runs in the sit-ski. Today, Kevin, Jody, Cosley, and her little brother, Jackson, can ski together as a family, enjoying the runs Kevin has known his whole life.
“There are so many people who would benefit from DREAM, but they don’t think they can do what my family has done,” he says. “Sometimes, the biggest barrier is just getting through the door. If we can make it easier to get through that door, we can figure out what’s next, whether that’s going down runs or just getting a boot on. That’s what the Mountain Center will do.”
